Denstone College is delighted to announce that it has been shortlisted for the Outstanding Commitment to Safeguarding Award at the SACPA Awards 2026, in recognition of its PSHE, RSE and wellbeing provision.
SACPA, the Safeguarding and Child Protection Association, champions excellence in safeguarding and child protection. It is the voice of safeguarding, providing a channel to government and other key agencies, and represents organisations, associations, agencies and individuals involved in safeguarding the welfare of children and adults at risk in the UK and overseas.
The College was informed of its finalist status by SACPA, who also shared a finalist rosette. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony during the Annual Safeguarding Conference in London on 5 November.
Chris Farman, Deputy Head Wellbeing, said:
"We are delighted that our PSHE, RSE and wellbeing provision has been nominated for the Outstanding Commitment to Safeguarding Award. Our whole school approach is built on the belief that supporting young people goes well beyond the classroom. Through a comprehensive and engaging curriculum, we strive to ensure that every pupil develops the knowledge and skills to navigate the challenges of an ever changing world.
"Over the past year, we have continued to strengthen and evolve our provision. Through Denstone Together, we have placed an even greater emphasis on parental engagement, introducing a new podcast series and webinar programme, alongside regular updates so that parents remain informed and involved in the PSHE curriculum. We have also expanded the number of staff delivering wellbeing education across the school, with timetabled lessons for ages 4 to 18, further developing the expertise and experience within our dedicated team.
"A huge thank you to our incredibly dedicated team who deliver such high quality PSHE, RSE and wellbeing education across the school. This is what makes our provision so strong!"
