Shape of The Week | Admissions | Denstone College | Staffordshire

SHAPE OF THE WEEK

At Denstone College, the structure of the week is carefully designed to support a balanced and fulfilling Senior School experience for pupils in Years 7–11. Our timetable reflects the importance of both academic focus and personal development, ensuring that pupils can make the most of every opportunity available to them; in the classroom, through co-curricular activities, and across life in the Senior School.

At both the College and The Prep, we operate seasonal timetables, with distinct summer and winter schedules. These are shaped around natural daylight and are designed to maximise participation in a wide range of co-curricular activities, from senior sport and senior arts to senior leadership and service.

The winter timetable typically runs from October Half Term until February Half Term. During this time, the structure of the week supports a productive Senior academic rhythm while still allowing pupils to engage fully in the broader life of the school, including senior pastoral care, enrichment activities and the development of the skills that prepare them for future pathways.

This thoughtful balance ensures that pupils are able to thrive academically while also developing confidence, independence and a strong sense of community through life in the Senior School; building strong foundations for later choices around senior results, careers and further education.
