Denstone College Consent form for use of images, video and personal information

In line with the schools Social Media Policy, Digital Safety Policy and Data Protection Policy, the School would like your consent to use your child’s image, video recording and where appropriate their name in the following ways:

DESCRIPTION OF USE:

· Social Media – organic posts regarding regular activity and achievements

· Digital and Print Advertising

· Website imagery

· Directory listings

· Printed documentation e.g. brochures, year books and flyers

· External presentations

· School, House and Team photos by approved companies such as Gilman and Soame.

· Alumni communications and publications

· Other marketing, promotional and communications activities that support the School's educational aims.

Protecting Your Child's Information

We are strongly committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of our pupils. All personal data will be processed in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and the School's data protection policies.

While the School takes great care in its use of images, videos and digital media, parents and pupils should be aware that any content published online carries inherent risks. Content may be copied, shared, downloaded, altered or redistributed by third parties beyond the School's control. This includes the potential misuse or manipulation of digital content for unlawful or inappropriate purposes.

The School has robust procedures in place to minimise these risks. Access to School social media accounts and publishing platforms is restricted to authorised members of staff, and procedures regarding pupil images are regularly communicated to relevant staff to ensure that restrictions and consent preferences are respected.

Your Consent

In Section 1 of this form, please indicate whether you consent to the School using your child's image and name for the purposes outlined above.

Where appropriate, particularly for older pupils who are considered capable of understanding how their personal information is used, the School may also seek and take account of the pupil's own views regarding the use of their image and personal information.

Please contact us if you have any concerns or questions about how an image may be used. You may withdraw your consent at any time in the future, but please be aware it may not be possible to remove all images that have already been published or distributed.

Photography by Parents and Guests

We respectfully ask all parents, guardians and guests attending School events to act responsibly when taking photographs or videos. Images or recordings of pupils other than your own child should not be shared on social media or other public platforms

Important Note

Please note that the School will not always seek consent for the use of photographs, recordings or personal data where such processing is necessary for the operation, safeguarding or administration of the School. This may include, for example:

· Educational and teaching purposes

· Identification and security records

· CCTV and site security monitoring

· Attendance, registration and administrative processes

Such processing will be carried out in accordance with the School's legal obligations, contractual obligations and legitimate interests as set out in its Privacy Notice.
