Denstone Choral Society Returns:
Inviting the Whole Community to Sing
|
|

Denstone College is pleased to announce the relaunch of its community choir, now known as the Denstone Choral Society. Previously the Parent & Staff Choir, this newly rebranded group is open to all—parents, staff, Old Denstonians, family members, and anyone in the local area with a love of singing.
Starting Monday 12th January 2026, rehearsals will take place every week from 7–8pm in the Roper Building at Denstone College. The choir’s focus for the season will be Matthew Coleridge’s acclaimed Requiem, with the exciting opportunity to perform in the school’s Choral & Concerto Concert on Thursday 30th April.
No prior experience is necessary—participants simply need enthusiasm and a willingness to join in. While the ability to read music is helpful, it is by no means essential. The choir aims to be inclusive, welcoming singers of all backgrounds and abilities.
As a special highlight, members will benefit from a free workshop led by Matthew Coleridge himself, offering invaluable insight into the Requiem and enhancing the choir’s performance.
If you have ever considered joining a choir, or if you are simply looking for a new way to engage with the Denstone College community, now is the perfect time. For more information or to express your interest, please contact our Director of Music, cdawson@denstonecollege.net
