Contact Admissions Here

Choosing a school for your son or daughter is one of the most important decisions you will make, involving significant investment.

With the introduction of The Prep at Denstone College, we look forward to welcoming pupils from reception upwards. Pupils generally join the College in the First Form (aged 11), with more joining at Third Form and then Sixth Form. It is, however, possible to join other year groups, space permitting. Where there are more applicants than places available, a waiting list will operate, and so we encourage prospective parents to make contact early in their selection process. Many parents register well in advance of the likely entrance dates.

Sixth Form Assessment Day for entry in September 2024

With so much interest in our Sixth Form education, we are excited to announce our plans for a second ‘Sixth Form Assessment Day’ on Monday 4 December. To register for this, please use the link below.

This day will comprise three Cognitive Abilities (CAT4) Tests, along with an interview, a session with the Lotte Tulloch, the Head and Rachel Maddocks, the Head of Sixth Form, as well as meeting some of our current Sixth Formers.

Scholarship candidates will then be invited in for a further assessment on a subsequent date.

We appreciate the importance of getting choices right for a Sixth Form education and beyond. We have a team of specialists that are here to help with this journey: Tim Bell, (Deputy Head Academic), Kathryn Watson (Head of Higher Education) and Richard Lightfoot (Head of Careers). If you wish to make contact with any of these members of staff, please do get in touch with us so that we can set this up for you.

1st – 4th Form Entry for September 2024

Following our major assessment day, we are filling up quickly. If you wish for your child to be considered for a place in one of these years, please do complete the registration form below as soon as possible. We will then be in touch to make individual arrangements for assessment.

Mid-Year Places

At Denstone College, we appreciate that there are many reasons that families may look for a change in education midway through an academic year. We have some availability; in this case, we ask that you make an appointment to visit the school. Following this, you can then meet the team and discuss your requirements in person.

International Applicants

A number of overseas pupils join Denstone for their GCSE and A level education or sooner, and we usually encourage applicants to come to us via an education agency based in their home country. The agency will then administer the application process, as we use CAT 4 assessments for entry. This makes the whole process easier for overseas families.

Scholarship information can be found in the Scholarships and Bursaries section of the website, and from the scholarship booklets available from the Admissions staff.
