Recent inspection results have been first-class. College numbers have increased to 743, and this has happened alongside excellent academic results, flourishing CCF and D of E, and of course excellent performances in music, drama and sport.
Principles and values are actively promoted which facilitate the personal development of pupils as responsible, tolerant, law-abiding citizens.
ISI 2022
The 2022 ISI report, published in June 2022, acknowledges the hard work of staff and pupils at Denstone. Focused compliance and educational provision were the subjects of the inspection, and the full findings can be found in the full, unabridged Inspection Report in this section. For the Focused Compliance element, the College was judged against a number of standards, including safeguarding children, measures taken against bullying, communication with parents and other aspects of leadership and management.
These standards included national minimum boarding standards. In all respects the College was adjudged to meet the standards. It is not possible to exceed standards and as such, this is the best outcome the College could have achieved. For Educational Provision, the areas inspected fall into two categories; the quality of pupils’ academic and other achievements, and the quality of pupils’ personal development. Both areas were found to be “Excellent,” the highest descriptor available to inspectors.
