Old Denstonians in Tough Guy Obstacle Challenge

A group of 15 Old Denstonians took on the Tough Guy Wolverhampton Challenge at the end of January, raising money for the Mind Charity in memory of their friend and Old Denstonian, Josh Sutherland (Selwyn 2001-07)

Tough Guy claims to be the toughest obstacle course in the world with a 15km run followed by gruelling obstacles including fire, frozen lakes, electricity and flooded underground tunnels.

The group of Old Denstonians, who all left College between 2007 and 2011, have already raised nearly £5,000 but are hoping to add to that total.  If you would like to help their cause and donate, please follow the link: https://www.justgiving.com/toughguywjim/

The organiser of the Old Denstonian team, Henry Lloyd (Shrewsbury 2006-08), said ‘Our team was made up of multiple years of ODs and we made it round in around 3 hours.  We are incredibly grateful to our great set of supporters, including fellow ODs, members of Josh’s family and teachers who handed out sugary snacks as we progressed’

‘Our Denstone College spirit went so far as to create a rallying call that ensured we were all present at each stage of the course.  We are almost at the £5,000 mark for With Josh in Mind but would be extremely grateful for any additional donations.’
