Welcome to Denstone College, a coeducational boarding and day school set in beautiful grounds in rural Staffordshire. Here your children are encouraged to embrace possibility, both inside and outside the classroom.

High academic achievement is a priority and we work hard to enable pupils to develop as individuals and find their own personal strengths. We do this by encouraging them to challenge expectations, through a wide range of opportunities, be it on the sports field, in art, music, drama or in general endeavour. It is only through such challenge that girls and boys discover and begin to realise their true potential.

Both Ofsted and ISI have recently confirmed something of which we are very proud: that the standard of pastoral care we provide is outstanding. Pupils are happy and well-grounded and there is no doubt that our beautiful Chapel has a part to play in this; it is at the heart of our community. The College was founded in 1868 by Nathaniel Woodard, as an independent school with  the aim of providing education based on “sound principle and sound knowledge, firmly grounded in the Christian faith”. This aim still holds good today. My hope for all our young people is that they leave our community well-prepared to take up their place in society as confident and articulate young men and women, ready to make their mark in an increasingly competitive world.

Throughout the website you will be able to discover more about the broad educational experience at the College and the vibrant and energetic atmosphere which characterises our community. But none of this should replace experiencing Denstone College itself and I would encourage those who wish to know more to visit us. Together with the staff and pupils, I look forward to welcoming you and answering your questions about the College and about your children’s education.
