Denstone College welcomes Dr Robert Beswick

Staff from the science department along with pupils were thrilled to enjoy a seminar with Dr Beswick

Dr Beswick is an academic and research staff member working at the University of Manchester and based at the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics and Jodrell Bank Observatory, which are part of The University of Manchester's Department of Physics and Astronomy.

He talked in detail to the pupils about the opportunities on offer and about the very exciting MeerKAT satellites which will allow astronomers to study the formation of the first galaxies, magnetic relations between planets as well as details around the large-scale structure of the cosmos.

Thank you to Dr Beswick for a very interesting and informative seminar, not only enjoyed by pupils but also by staff, not least because two of them were previously his team mates in the Rugby Club!
