College Life: Tuck Shop The onsite Tuck Shop is a great social area for the pupils to meet and enjoy a cup of coffee or a smoothie, watch the wide screen television, listen to music on the Ipod station, or simply enjoy a chat with friends.  The Tuck Shop is open during morning break and lunchtimes, as well as three evenings a week for the boarding community. What the students say: "We like the Tuck Shop because it's a lively place where anyone can go and socialise; it enables us to mix with other year groups, giving us a new social perspective and expanding our friendship boundaries. Apart from that, at night  there is a calm, care-free and cheerful atmosphere as all different groups of students merge together. We all chatter away with our ipods on whilst the plasma TV plays Eastenders in the background. Add to this some chocolate, crisps and cake and you have a great night in the Tuck Shop ahead of you!"  (from two Third Form girl boarders) "The reason I like the Tuck Shop is because it's where you can meet all your friends when it's cold outside, or when you're too hot you can go in and buy an iced lolly! It's a great place to just listen to music or talk to the teachers - it's a lovely, cosy place. Boarders and day students can go there - it really doesn't matter; the Tuck Shop is simply one of the best places on site to chill out and spend time with friends." (First Form girl boarder)
