Admissions: 6th Form
Lower 6th Form – Age 16+ (Year 12)
Pupils applying to join the Sixth Form at Denstone College will be required to gain a minimum of 15 points at GCSE (where A* = 4, A = 3, B = 2 and C = 1), and a minimum of grade B in the subjects to be studied at A ’level. (This is for external candidates only).
Following registration, a reference from the present school will be requested by the Headmaster. On receipt of this reference, (which should include mock and or predicted GCSE grades), and providing that the reference is acceptable, a place will be offered pending the GCSE results in the summer.
In some instances candidates may be asked to sit Entrance Examinations, especially if an
academic scholarship
is being applied for. A candidate will be asked to select at least two subjects, which must be from their intended Sixth Form subjects. Sixth Form scholarship examinations will be held on an individual basis.
